सरकारी दूरसंचार कंपनी बीएसएनएल को घाटे से बाहर निकालने के लिए सरकार ने 1.64 लाख करोड़ रुपये का पैकेज जारी करने का फैसला लिया है। आज पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में हुई कैबिनेट बैठक में इस पर मुहर लगी है।
इसके तहत दो फैसले लिए गए हैं। पहला यह कि बीएसएनएल को उबारने के लिए पैकेज जारी किया जाएगा। इसके अलावा उन 29,616 गांवों में मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी के लिए काम होगा, जहां अब तक यह सुविधा नहीं पहुंची है। इसके लिए 26,316 करोड़ रुपये का सैचुरेशन पैकेज भी तय किया गया है। पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने बीते साल स्वतंत्रता दिवस के मौके पर यह वादा किया था।

केंद्रीय आईटी मिनिस्टर अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बुधवार को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि कैबिनेट बैठक में बीएसएनएल और बीबीएनएल के विलय को भी मंजूरी दी गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे दोनों कंपनियों की आर्थिक स्थिति में सुधार होगा और कामकाज के लिए तालमेल भी बेहतर हो सकेगा। आईटी मिनिस्टर ने बताया कि देश भर में मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी को बढ़ाने के लिए 19,722 टावर लगाए जाएंगे। ऐसे सभी गांवों में 4जी कवरेज दी जाएगी, जहां अभी मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी का अभाव है। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार देश के हर हिस्से तक मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी पहुंचाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।
